Learn how to enable Video Calls

You need to allow access to microphone and camera to be able to have a Video Call on Sexlog.
You could have denied Sexlog the access to your microphone and camera in the past, which now prevents you from having Video Calls with other users. To check if your camera and microphone were blocked in the browser, follow the steps below:

On Google Chrome:
Click on the camera icon in Messages to open a Video Call. In the tab that opens, check if there is a red X with the camera icon on the address bar (see image).

If the camera icon doesn’t have a red X, you could be facing some problems with your camera or microphone.

Click on the featured link on the image above. On the window that will open, check the box “Always allow https://www.sexlog.com to access your microphone and camera”. (See image below)

Then, check if the microphone and camera that are selected are correct. If you have connected a webcam to your computer, select it.

Finally, click on “Finish” and close the Video Call window. Go back to Messages and select the other user for a call again. Now, you should be able to Video Call them.


On Firefox:
Click on the camera icon in Messages to open a new Video Call. On the tab that opens, click on the green lock icon located to the left side of Sexlog’s address in the address bar (see image).

Select the box “Allow” for camera and microphone on the window that opens (see image below).

Finally, close the Video Call window. Go back to Messages and select the other user for a call again. Now, you should be able to Video Call them.

Is there any problem with your camera or microphone?

There are some cases where we cannot access your camera or microphone, preventing you to Video Call other users. See below some reasons that could be causing this problem.

If you are having trouble with the camera:

  • Check if another video call software like Skype or Google Hangouts is using your camera or microphone, and close them. Then, close your browser, reopen it and try to Video Call someone again by clicking on the camera icon in Messages.

If you have connected your camera or microphone and they haven’t been recognized yet, close the browser and reopen it. Then, select the other user and Video Call them again by clicking on the camera icon in Messages.

  • Check if your camera and microphone are blocked in the browser.

If you are having trouble with the microphone:

  • If you have a microphone, check if it’s connected to the correct input.

  • Check if your microphone has the mute function turned on. Some microphones have buttons to turn on/off mute. This button could be on either side of the earphones or on the cable.

  • Check if any video call or messaging software like Skype or Google Hangouts is using the microphone and close them. Then, close your browser and reopen it. Finally, start a Video Call with the other user by clicking on the camera icon in Messages. 

  • Check if your camera and microphone are blocked in the browser.

If you are having trouble with your speakers:

  • Check if you haven’t turned the volume of your computer down, or if you have activated the mute function. If you have installed an external speaker, for example, check if the volume on the device itself isn’t too low.

If you can’t hear the other user during a Video Call, he could have turned off his sound. Send them a message using the chat to ask if this is the case.

  • Check if the Video Call is using the correct device to access your sound system. On the bar located at the top of the Video Call window, click on the engine icon that is located beside the camera icon. A new window will open with options to change the camera, microphone, and speakers. Select the correct speaker and click on Save.
